Monroe Nichols Elected Tulsa Mayor

Democratic State Representative Monroe Nichols will be the new Mayor of Tulsa.

Nichols defeated Tulsa County Commissioner Karen Keith to become the city of Tulsa's first Black mayor.

"It's been a long time coming, but tonight we made history," said Nichols.

He will succeed current Mayor GT Bynum. Bynum congratulated Nichols, saying he's excited to begin the transition process. Nichols who won the election by more than 15,000 votes, will take office on December 2nd.
